For nearly 60 years, Dorcy has been designing, importing, and producing portable lighting products. Dorcy has continued to innovate and evolve by offering one of the widest selections available, including private label items for many of the world’s largest retailers. Privately held, and headquartered in Columbus, OH, Dorcy is committed to continuing to lead the market in new “niche” and cutting edge product introductions, as evidenced by their rapid adoption of the relatively new ANSI FLI standards.
Dorcy came to us refresh and re-platform their two existing URLs into one ecommerce platform; a platform that would transition the wide variety of demands from two sites into one seamless customer experience and make it easier for Dorcy to manage product orders internally.
We transformed the once separate B2B and B2C ecommerce platforms to now carry a direct to consumer model. The new platform is hosted on Magento and is beautifully designed visually, and has new site navigation that allows customers to shop by individual products, product categories, featured and new releases. Because of the variety of products Dorcy carries, we re-focused users by creating a completely new shopping experience through advanced UX design. Site visitors can now shop for lighting products for household, outdoors, and professional use and view product descriptions, features, and related suggestions on every page. Users can now also compare products directly on the platform using an “Add to Compare” feature that was non-existent on either of the previous sites.
Dorcy personnel now have the ability to easily promote new products and run a site-wide sale on specific products. Because of the new platform's ease of use, Dorcy has experienced a 2-5% increase in conversion rates since their launch date.
